Join this walk for a fascinating, guided (1hr 30 minute) stroll around iconic buildings in Sheffield City Centre, and explore the remarkable story of Sheffield, the crucible of the modern game of association football.
Starting at the site of the old Surrey Theatre, owned by Thomas Youdan the founder of the Youdan Cup, the first football cup competition in the world, past the locations where the rules of modern football were first written, the walk will conclude at Freeman College, the former home of Lockwood Brothers, the oldest ‘works team’ in the world.
