New Year Social Ride
Shake off the winter blues and come along on 18th January for a fun, easy-going social ride!
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started, A Different Gear are here to help you overcome the hurdles that make getting out on your bike during the colder months that little bit harder.
Whatever your excuse not to ride in January, they have got you covered.
“It’s cold and wet” – No worries! Rab will provide top-quality demo kit to keep you warm, dry, and comfortable, no matter the weather.
“I don’t have the right bike” – Thanks to Genesis, we’ll have a fleet of demo gravel bikes available for you to try out.
“I’m not sure my bike’s in working order” – A skilled bike mechanic will be on hand to offer advice, share tips on winter bike maintenance, and talk you through servicing and repairs.
“I don’t want to go out on my own” – You won’t be! This is a friendly group ride, led by Peak Gravel Gang and joined by an awesome community of riders ready to support and encourage you.

THE PLAN
A Different Gear are hosting three short loops, starting and finishing at the shop, so you can join us for them, two, or all three! Loop 1: 10:00 AM Loop 2: 12:00 PM Loop 3: 2:00 PM Each ride is designed to last 1–1.5 hours, offering a mix of quiet roads, fun trails, and potentially a bit of mud (it is January, after all)!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Safe and inclusive environment suitable for all skill levels. A chance to demo top-quality gear and bikes. Plenty of smiles, camaraderie, and hot drinks back at the shop between loops. Don’t let January keep you off the bike - embrace the cold! Save the date, spread the word, and come ride.
RESERVE YOUR PLACE
It's free to attend, but please reserve your place in advance. Let them know if you'd like to borrow a Genesis gravel bike. They'll allocate them on a first come, first served basis and let you know in plenty of time if you've been successful. The loan bikes are available for a single loop only to ensure everyone has the opportunity to try one. Let them know if you're interested in trialling the Rab Cinder cycling gear and they'll do their best to kit you out. Please add your size in the Notes section of the booking form.
