Joyful - selected Christmas group show

We all need a bit of joy in our lives! Art brings joy to so many and over 70 artists across media are exhibiting their work in response to this theme. Art to lift your spirits and elicit strong emotion. From crazy oversized ice lollies made from reclaimed wood, to delicate abstract watercolours, large ‘50’s style textile hangings to hand made mixed media baubles we hope the range of styles, scale, price points and character of every hand made work of art in the show comes together to deliver a truly ‘joyful’ exhibition.

Opening Evening: Friday 22 November 7:30-9:30pm – mulled wine and mince pies will be served.

“I believe that visual art has the power to lift the spirits in the same way, music, dance and poetry do for so many. Most people experience challenges in their lives and who doesn’t need a bit of joy?” says Karen Sherwood, Director and founder of Cupola Gallery.

Cupola has brought together a diverse collection of art across media for their latest Christmas exhibition. The selected work was chosen for its strength and the unique voice of each artist or maker. We are all different and we all find joy in diverse ways.

The gallery wants to celebrate that diversity and each artist’s passion for what they do. They hope that amongst the collection there will be items that will create the connection that brings you joy. From hand made gift items to large scale paintings, from functional to decorative ceramics and glassware, textiles and textile hangings and jewellery through to collage, printmaking, photography and sculpture.
