Pound’s Park is named after Sheffield’s first Chief Fire Officer, Superintendent John Charles Pound.
The pocket park is located on the former fire station site and offers a multitude of experiences, including spaces for play, relaxation and socialising.
With families in mind, Pound’s Park features a three-by-eight-metre climbing boulder, reminiscent of a Peak District rockface, and a significant new children’s playground.
The children's playground includes two large pyramid towers – with the tallest standing at 11 metres, stainless steel slides, climbing structures, playhouses, a seesaw, wheelchair-accessible play equipment and more.
There's also a number of water play features too, perfect for sunny days in the city centre, while Grão Brazil cafe is on hand to provide fresh Brazilian coffee, cold drinks and baked treats, open Wednesday - Sunday.
All the play equipment was provided by Timberplay, a Sheffield-based company.

Pound's Park is also home to a stunning mural by street artist Peachzz called 'Reverie'. Overlooking the park the street art shows a vibrant depiction of a kingfisher and hero and is the tallest piece mural in the city.
It was painted to celebrate Sheffield's Festival of the Outdoors in 2024 and went on to be named second best street art in the world for 2024 by Street Art Cities.
