Festival of the Outdoors 2025
Every March, as the days are getting longer, drier, and warmer in Sheffield, we celebrate what it means to be The Outdoor City, by hosting the Festival of the Outdoors.
You'll find everything from large-scale international sporting events to small community gatherings; from guided walks to some of the worlds hardest bouldering problems; outdoor markets to film festivals.

The Hallé & Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus
The Sheffield International Concert Series season finale will leave you in awe of the wonders of creation. Under the baton of the Hallé’s charismatic Choral Director, Matthew Hamilton, the massed forces of the Hallé and the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus will breathe hope and joy into Haydn’s divine masterpiece, The Creation.
Calamity Jane
Meet the fearless, gun slingin' Calamity Jane – biggest mouth in Dakota territory and always up for a fight. She'll charm you hog-eyed though, especially when trying to win the heart of the dashing Lieutenant Gilmartin, or shooting insults at her best friend Wild Bill Hickock.
Hothouse Flowers
Irish pop-rock icons Hothouse Flowers haven’t visited Sheffield in decades, soon to be fixed as they join us at The Leadmill for an intimate standing show next June.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced her biggest ever UK headline tour in May and June 2025. Kicking off in Glasgow on 24th May and taking in 15-cities in total including Sheffield, Newcastle, Cardiff and Bristol, the tour culminates at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London.
