Widely recognised as one of the best documentary festivals in the world, DocFest has been held in Sheffield annually since 1994. The festival presents a vast programme of film screenings, exhibitions, industry events and more.

The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District (AMID) spans the border of Sheffield and neighbouring town of Rotherham, and was the first of it's kind in the UK.
