Ruth is a poet based in Sheffield. Their work has been widely published in anthologies including 'Five: An Anthology' and 'Like Flyering for the Revolution: The Verve Anthology of Protest’; and in magazines including The North, Route 57, and Pennine Platform. Four times winner of the Simon Elvin/Foyle Young Poets Award, their poems have been shortlisted for the Eric Gregory Award, and highly commended in the Resurgence Poetry Prize and Disabled Poets Prize.
Ruth has taken part in projects and commissions including for Manchester Festival of Libraries and the Endangered Species project, and was poet-in-residence on the Poetry Business blog. They are currently working with other Writing Squad graduates on an Arts Council-funded project called ‘Somewhere Places’, about climate change in the north of England.
