Dean Hughes - Service Manager
Dean Hughes is the Service Manager for Invest Sheffield, leading the city’s inward investment function and supporting businesses, investors, developers and partners to invest, grow and succeed in Sheffield.
Dean brings two decades of experience in investment and economic development, he has worked across inward investment, business growth, commercial property, financial incentives and strategic account management, giving him a strong understanding of the practical support businesses need when making investment and expansion decisions.
Dean also has a strong background and interest in Sheffield’s technology and innovation economy. Alongside leading the Invest Sheffield team, he manages the Tech Scale-up Advisor team, which help ambitious technology businesses access specialist support to scale and grow. His role connects investor engagement, business support, sector development and partnership working across Sheffield City Council, regional partners and the wider business ecosystem.
As Service Manager, Dean leads on Invest Sheffield’s investor pipeline, investment propositions, performance reporting, partner engagement and strategic initiatives linked to Sheffield’s growth, regeneration and innovation ambitions.
