Well-known to Sheffield audiences and beyond as members of Ensemble 360, Tim Horton (piano), Rachel Roberts (viola) and Robert Plane (clarinet) formed Trio Meister Raro to further explore the repertoire for their mellow instrument combination.
Named after one of composer Robert Schumann's creative alter ego's, the Trio delve deeper into a selection of masterpieces and fascinating curiosities which focus on storytelling and fantasy from Schumann's 'Märchenerzählungen' (Fairytales), to Holbroke's Nocturne, 'Fairyland'. This narrative element is reflected in many of Trio Meister Raro’s programme offerings.
Their programme will also include: Debussy 'Premiere Rhapsodie, York Bowen 'Phantasie', Watkins 'Speak Seven Seas', Mozart Trio for Clarinet, Viola and Piano in E flat major 'Kegelstatt'. Full details are on the website.
