Simeon Wood Concert

Born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Simeon began playing the flute at the age of eight. Ten years later, he continued his musical training at Trinity College of Music in London, where he studied performance and composition and began developing the distinctive combination of musicianship, creativity and theatricality that would come to define his work.

Today, Simeon performs internationally with an ever-growing collection of unusual instruments, each bringing its own unique sound, character and visual appeal to his performances. A versatile and accomplished musician, he combines a high level of musicianship with humour, warmth and an engaging stage presence, creating performances that are both entertaining and musically compelling. 

His career has taken him to some extraordinary locations around the world, from caves, castles and palaces to giant redwood forests. He has also performed at festivals, on cruise ships, in concert halls, theatres and arts centres, adapting his work to a wide variety of settings and audiences. 

Alongside his touring career, Simeon is regularly commissioned to compose music for television and theatre productions. His work as a performer and composer has also brought him to television and radio, including appearances on Britain’s Got Talent, the BBC’s The One Show and The Chris Evans Breakfast Show. 

Simeon’s performances can be humorous and unexpected, moving and breathtaking, often shifting between contrasting moods within a single show. At the heart of each performance is a desire to make music feel immediate, accessible and memorable, offering audiences an experience that is not only heard, but seen, felt and shared. 

Funds raised will support Paul Williams in his work for 'Seedtime' - helping low-income individuals and families build sustainable livelihoods through micro-enterprise, business training, career development, and counselling in Mongolia.
