Bringing together three of the UK’s most distinctive musicians – Sam Sweeney (fiddle), Ben Nicholls (double bass) and Louis Campbell (guitar) – the trio perform music drawn from across Sam’s discography, combining traditional English melodies with modern arrangements, improvisation and a deep sense of musical interplay.
Sam Sweeney is widely regarded as one of the finest fiddle players of his generation. A member of Bellowhead and Leveret and an acclaimed solo artist, his playing blends expressive virtuosity with a cinematic, forward-thinking approach to folk music. He is joined by long-time collaborator Ben Nicholls, whose distinctive tone and rhythmic drive underpin the trio’s sound, and Louis Campbell, an inventive and dynamic guitarist whose playing brings both colour and edge.
Together, the trio create music that is both intimate and expansive – rooted in tradition yet alive with innovation – offering a compelling and immersive live experience in the unique surroundings of the Chapel.
