House & Swagger
Chunky house. Funky grooves. Disco attitude.
House & Swagger lands at Grub Records; a new independent night built around good DJs, great records and proper dancefloor music.
Taking its cues from the best bits of house, disco, funk and underground club culture, House Swagger isn't about sticking rigidly to one sound. Expect everything from rare groove and disco-soaked cuts through soulful and vocal house to chunky, jackin' records and heads-down club tracks.
No filler. No pretence. Just good music in an intimate Sheffield setting.

Additional Information
Adam Courtnall
House Swagger Sheffield-based DJ and the man behind House Swagger, Adam returns to DJing after a break of around two decades with a sound rooted in house and disco but firmly aimed at today's dancefloor.
Expect soulful vocals, disco attitude and plenty of groove, gradually moving into the chunkier side of house. Influences run through the likes of Dave Lee, David Penn, Mike Dunn, Riva Starr, Demuir, CASSIMM, Angelo Ferreri and the Masters At Work school of house music.
House Swagger is an extension of that approach: old and new records sitting together, DJs given room to play, and a night that isn't afraid to move between disco, soul, funk and proper club music.
Muz.dj1
@muz.dj1 joins the first House Swagger line-up, bringing another flavour to the night and helping build the musical journey from the early grooves into full dancefloor territory.
House Swagger is about selectors rather than simply sticking DJs into tightly defined genre boxes — expect Muz to dig into the records that make sense in the room and take things wherever the crowd allows.

Paigeypro_DJ
@paigeypro_dj joins House Swagger for its Grub Records debut.
Part of what House Swagger is intended to do is give different Sheffield selectors space alongside one another rather than filling a line-up with DJs who all play exactly the same sound.
Expect Paige to bring her own personality and selection to the booth while keeping one thing at the centre of it: the groove.

Dee - Rare Groove Set
Dee takes things back to the roots with a specially selected Rare Groove set.
Soul, funk, disco and the records that helped lay the foundations for house music — this is the crate-digging side of House Swagger and an important part of what the night is about.
Rather than starting at peak-time and staying there, House Swagger is designed to have a musical journey. Dee's Rare Groove selection provides the perfect foundation before the night moves through disco and deeper grooves into house.
