Fay Hield @ Wild Traditions

Having performed in a variety of award winning line-ups over the last 15 years, including with The Full English and her own band the Hurricane party, Fay has recently been taking a break due to family reasons. This is a very rare opportunity to catch Fay Hield live and up close and we're just delighted.

Expect stripped back, personal stories and settings accompanied by banjo and shruti box alongside a cappella renditions and a smattering of percussion. A couple of special guests might make an appearance too, you never know...

Fay explores what it is in this weird and wonderful world of traditional song that strikes a chord - what in the music, the words, the stories and the journeys they take that make this music so meaningful to us all. Described as ‘getting straight to the heart of the song’, Fay has a rare gift of seeing through the surface of traditional music to unearth deeper meanings, the implications for the characters in the songs and the singers that shared them.

Wild Traditions is a monthly happening involving a concert and tunes & singing sessions.
