Imagine if you could step into a musical time machine and explore how great composers shaped the sounds we hear today. Each concert in the Brigantes Orchestra's new season begins in a different year, then travels across the centuries to reveal how familiar ideas – beautiful melodies, vivid storytelling, nature, memory and national character – have been reimagined again and again. 

The journey begins in 1792 with Haydn’s famous Surprise Symphony and a musical idea everyone can follow: take a tune and transform it! Four composers show how the same principal of variation can sound witty, lyrical, virtuosic or brilliantly modern. The Brigantes Orchestra are thrilled to welcome back Tim Horton after his wonderful performance of Grieg last season!
