Nestled in the heart of Mayfield Valley, the Alpaca Petting Farm and Animal Sanctuary is a tranquil haven for animal lovers of all ages.
Whether you're seeking a relaxing day out, a chance to connect with some friendly alpacas, or to learn more about these gentle creatures, you've come to the right place.
At Mayfield Alpacas they offer a unique visitor attraction, children's party and play experience and of course sanctuary to a number of different animals, including, goats, ponies, pigs, ducks and guinea pigs.
They offer two types of Alpaca experiences as they wish to make this experience available to all. There is a basic Alpaca experience which lasts for approximately 30 minutes and has a minimum booking requirement of two persons and a maximum of 5 people per booking. These sessions are only £8.95 per person.
During the basic Alpaca experience the trained animal handlers will take you and your group into an Alpaca enclosure and show you how they care and tend for these beautiful creatures. You will walk two of the Alpacas around their field and the farm hand will give you some interesting facts and information about Alpacas throughout the experience.
More in-depth sessions are also available and are 1.5 hours in duration. These experiences include a talk about the animals and a chance to walk a number of the Alpacas around the entire site and an opportunity to feed and groom our furry friends.

The stunning site in the Mayfield Valley is home to 35 Alpacas and a variety of other farm animals and species.
Whilst providing a unique venue for family trips out, with an educational and rural twist, their themed children’s party events and animal experiences are amongst the best available. At Mayfield Alpacas they also provide sanctuary to a diverse range of animals of varying shapes and sizes.
As well as the Alpacas, they have a range of other animals you can meet including a Llama called Princess, Shetland ponies, pigs Malcolm, Alan and Pinky, Ducks, Cockerels, Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and more.
The Grazing Table offers a warm welcome and great food whether you are visiting the animals or just want to relax in a calming environment. They bring the best of the countryside to your plate. The Farm Café & Shop has a range of nutritious and wholesome foods available from Wednesdays through to Sundays between the hours of 10am - 6pm.
Step into the cosy café and enjoy a delicious menu inspired by seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. They aim to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements and offer a seasonal menu, weekly specials, soup of the day and a wonderful range of teas and coffees and other hot and cold drinks.
