Sheffield’s brand new Lord Mayor, Councillor Magid Magid, today visited Turtle Bay – the city’s hotly anticipated new Caribbean restaurant and bar - for a sneak peek at the venue ahead of their opening on June 3rd.
An amazing transformation of the National Union of Miners building will see Turtle Bay bring their trademark jerk spices, sunshine-inspired cocktails and island spirit to the city at their new two-floor restaurant on Holly Street.
Councillor Magid, who has been dubbed the ‘coolest Mayor ever’ paid a visit to Turtle Bay while the team were busy preparing for the big opening on June 3rd.
New Openings Manager, Elijah Hunter-Finn showed Councillor Magid around the restaurant, introduced him to staff, and even gave him a go at making Turtle Bay’s trademark tropical drinks behind the beach-shack island bar. The Lord Mayor made ‘mocktails’ (non-alcoholic cocktails) with great flair!
“This was not like any mayoral meeting I’ve ever had” commented Elijah… “Councillor Magid was so cool and fun, and we loved showing him round. He seemed to really like what we’re doing here at Turtle Bay and said he is looking forward to coming to check us out properly when we open. We can’t wait to welcome him and everyone in Sheffield - and what an amazing welcome to the city for us! We already love it here - bring on the 3rd June!”
Turtle Bay serves up beautiful Caribbean soul food and blissful tropical cocktails, in a vibrant, laidback environment, all the to tune of a great reggae soundtrack.
