Following a successful first UK edition last November in London, OFFSET is very excited to announce the 10th edition of its creative conference series is taking place in Sheffield this October at the Crucible Theatre.

With over 2,500 attendees to its Dublin event each year, OFFSET has fast become one of the worlds most inspirational, educational and vocational conferences for the design and creative industries. Since 2009, Offset has hosted creative icons such as Massimo Vignelli, Sir Peter Blake, Paula Scher, Milton Glaser, Kyle Cooper, Marian Bantjes, Stefan Sagmeister, Micheal Bierut, Morag Myerscough, Shepard Fairey, Emily Oberman, 4Creative, Tomi Ungerer, JR, Lance Wyman, Neville Brody, George Lois, Louise Fili and many more.

Representing industry at all levels, our speakers are key disruptors and influencers in their fields, driving everything from huge global campaigns to awe inspiring personal projects and will speak about their work, ideas and inspirations, giving audiences an insight into their practices and personal perspectives on their careers over the course of the two-day event.

OFFSET will be part of the Sheffield Catalyst Festival of Creativity (running until November) as well as a key element in Sheffield’s Design Week (22nd – 30th October 2016). Both have an exciting and varied programme, including exhibitions, workshops, talks, design conferences, installations, product launches, open studios and walking trails joining together venues across Sheffield.

Commenting on this exciting new endeavour, OFFSET Joint Creative Director, Bren Byrne, said, “Offering our audience insights into new innovations in both practice and thinking in the Design space is at the core of what we aim to provide. Not only has Sheffield an incredible Design legacy but also they are at the forefront of a very exciting international movement that recognises the importance of Creativity and Design to the future success of a contemporary city. We are delighted to be bringing OFFSET to Sheffield as our new UK home.”

Sally Wade, Head of Sheffield Institute of Arts (SIA) at Sheffield Hallam University, lead sponsor of the conference, said, “We are delighted to support OFFSET coming to our city and it’s a testament to the strength of design and, more broadly, the creative industries in Sheffield. OFFSET will be one of the marquee events of our Catalyst Festival of Creativity. It is also a great opportunity for students and design professionals to see internationally renowned speakers discuss their work. Our students have always found Offset events to be highly inspirational. We look forward to showing everyone involved what Sheffield has to offer."
