Sheffield Ambassador Dinner

The Sheffield Conference Ambassador Dinner is an annual event, which celebrates the fantastic individuals involved in the Ambassador Programme, who have brought conferences, meetings and events to Sheffield. It also provides a platform to inspire and attract new ambassadors.

The 2017 dinner took place the magnificent surroundings of the University of Sheffield’s Firth Hall, providing a fitting finale to the programme’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

Champions of Sheffield’s thriving conference scene, which includes professionals from the fields of academia, medicine, arts and science, gathered to celebrate a decade of helping conference advocates bring large scale business events to the city. The evening was enjoyed by all, and many left already planning their next conference.

Anne-Marie McMahon, Sheffield ambassador and consultant rheumatologist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, recently helped to organise a 300-delegate conference for the British Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology – and now can’t wait to host another event: “The ambassador dinner was a beautiful event and I woke the next morning full of ideas for future conferences,” she said. “The speeches were all inspiring and being involved with the ambassadors makes me feel proud to be part of, and represent, Sheffield. Here’s to future collaboration!”.
