In partnership with Yorkshire based legal services firm HLW Keeble Hawson, Creative Sheffield, the economic development arm of Sheffield City Council is to hold the next HR Best Practice and Networking Forum on Wednesday 8 June from 9-12.30.

This free business event, which will be hosted at HLW Keeble Hawson’s Sheffield city centre offices, will see a team of employment law experts guide attendees through a wide range of HR related legal issues and advise on common misconceptions surrounding HR and employment law. Topics to be discussed include: following the dismissal procedure, retirement legislation and how to mediate between strong personalities within a team.

Creative Sheffield host HR Forums for South Yorkshire based businesses every quarter. The forums which are always a collaboration between public and private sectors aim to promote best practice, share information and stimulate positive business networks within the city.

Cllr Leigh Bramall, Deputy Leader of Sheffield City Council & Cabinet Member for Business, and Economy said: “These events are designed to support businesses by sharing best practise with the people working in HR and recruitment roles in Sheffield.  Although many larger organisations employ legal advisors, we understand that this is not always possible for small and medium size employers. As the agency responsible for working with Political Leaders and the private sector to deliver economic growth and job creation in the city, Creative Sheffield is ideally placed to promote excellent employment law practices for our workforces using these quarterly HR Forums.”

In addition to the employment law support from HLW Keeble Hawson, Kathy Denton, Occupational Psychologist and Clare Manning, Life Coach will also be speaking at the HR Forum on 8 June. Both will share their experiences and give practical techniques to develop and increase creativity in your business.

This event is free of charge and includes a networking lunch. If you are interested in attending, be sure to secure your place(s) via email to anne.brennan@sheffield.gov.uk
